89th Anniversary Worship & Christmas Gathering of directors and members

Celebrating the 89th Anniversary

On December 9th, Seoul YWCA, founded in 1922, had a worship and Christmas gathering of directors and members celebrating its 89th anniversary.

The Foundation Day started with giving thanks to God for being with Seoul YWCA for the past 89 years. Before the sermon, Seoul Y’s Directors Choir wearing in red, green and white gave a Christmas harmony which brightened up the mood. After the preach of Rev. Kim, Sangbok on the subject of “Let it be to me according to your word”, the offerings of the day were donated to support IT voluntary service in Tanzania.

There was a commendation ceremony after the worship. Seoul Y cited directors and members who had worked hard for the year 2011, and awarded departments which had struggled to increase membership. Introducing directors from the past to the present, Seoul Y could realize that there are so many good people who have loved Seoul Y for a long time. At the end of the first part, everyone stood up and shouted the mission statement in unison, and sang the YWCA song together.

In the afternoon, the hall was full of laughter, applause and Christmas atmosphere. Kim, Jeongtaek, the artistic director of SBS, was invited and fascinated the audience, playing some familiar songs in a way that perfectly fits the winter moods.

We thank God for keeping and being with Seoul Y for 89 years, and we also thank all of our members who always pray for Seoul Y.
